Nemgonda Dada Patil Night College of Arts & Commerce, Sangli is one of the prominent College in Sangli district founded in 1983. Political Science department began in the 1983. The department of Political Science is the oldest department of the college. It has rich tradition of professor such as Dr. Vijay Patil, Prof. (Mrs.) S. S. Shete, Prof. Ravi Kakrambe, Prof. R. G. Mulik. It has been remained one of the significant night study center of Political Science in the jurisdiction of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. It always shows a positive attitude in organizing study events for the students to make them aware with the new changes happening in the discipline of Political Science and Public Administration. Activities

The department of History is one of the oldest department of our college. The department was established in 1985. It was granted in 1989 – 1990. The department has a glorious history of the eminent teachers and bright Students. The Department of History Very efficiently. Curricular and Co – curricular activities implemented Very effectively. Nemgonda Dada Patil Night College of Arts & Commerce, Sangli is one of the prominent colleges in Sangli district, founded in 1983. Marathi Department has began, in the college in 1991,at special level. The Marathi department has a glorious tradition of good results at university level. Some of the students have received good marks in the subject. The department has a reputation that many students are renowned professors , and became successful personalities in their career. The department organizes elocution, essay writing and poem reading competition etc. To encourage and cultivate these activities, renowned thinker personalities were invited to deliver the lectures and share their life experiences, such as Prin. Bapu Jadhav, Dr. Mohan Patil, Mr. Sampat Kadam Prin. Dr .Manasi Ganu, well-known poet Mr. Dnyaneshwar Koli, Mr.Abasaheb Patil etc. The department always organizes study supplemental activities for overall development of students. The department publishes Wall-Paper titled as “Nishigandha”. On the occasion of “Matru-Bhasha Din” and “Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din” students have made aware of to use maximum Marathi language in their daily life. Our college organizes the birth anniversary of well known writer and winner of Dhyanpith Award shri V.V.Shirwadkar (Kusumgraj) as “Marathi bhasha Gaurav Din”. On this occasion book exhibition was arranged for students and staff . The department also organizes “Vachan Prerana Din” to create awareness about importance of reading to the students and staff, on the birth anniversary of Late President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Some programes under Lead College Scheme were also arranged. Various events and programmes are arranged to enhance the reading, writing, understanding and expression skills of the students.. It has rich tradition of professors such as Dr. Mohan Patil, Dr .Mrs. A.P Kulkarni, Prof. B.B.Patil, Mrs. K.R.Patil and Mrs. R.A.Patil etc.

The hindi department has been functioning at N.D.Patil Night College Sangli since 1983 In 1988 Shri Neminath Gunde the professor of hindi was appointed as a principal and then the department of hindi has runs under his proper guidance prof.Gunde was associated with state and national organizetions of hindi Language. He was the treasore of Maharashtra Hindi Parishad in 1995 and also the treasore of Dakshin Bharat Hindi Pradhyapak Parishad since 1995 to 1998. Mrs. V.M.Kulkarni, Dr. J.S.Pailwan Dr. J.M.Desai and Dr.R.L.Govande have served as a HOD and teacher in this college and gave their co-operation for development of hindi Dept. Department has been started with optional Hindi for B.A. part I class in 1983 and then continued B.A. II and III as a Special subjects. After passing third year some students of the department continue the education and complete their post graduation and try to catch a better job opportunities. A number of students of the department are already working in varies field as a primary teacher, some are working in private sector as well as government and semi government sector. Department always try to motive and give support of students.

Department History
Department of Physical Education was established in the year 1983. The college has Best academic record of teachers and meritorious students in last 35 years. But B.A. III starts on 8 Aug. 2016. Department Activities – The Department Organizes study tours, group discussions, group projects, farewell functions, guest lectures, displayes series of wall papers etc. The eminent prof Mr. Gavade K.R.
